I believe learning should feel joyful, creativity should have room to breathe, and being different can be one of your greatest strengths.
How I got here
My Story
I’m Tocoi Arthur, an educator, creator, lifelong learner, and proud multipotentialite who has never been very good at fitting neatly into one box.
Education has taken me from the classroom to university instruction, consulting, training, instructional design, and educational leadership. Along the way, one thing has remained constant: I’m fascinated by how people learn, especially the learners whose strengths aren’t always recognized by traditional systems.
As a special education teacher, I’ve learned that students don't need us to lower expectations. They need us to understand how they learn, give them meaningful ways to access learning, and create environments where they can experience success.
That belief shapes the way I teach, create, advocate, and lead.
A Little Sunshine ☀️
Long before sunshine and smiles became part of my brand, “Sunshine” was already part of my story. My mom called me Sunshine. Even my high school principal called me Sunshine because he said that was what I reminded him of.
Apparently, the theme stuck. 😊
Today, sunshine and smiles represent something bigger to me: bringing energy, encouragement, creativity, and a little more joy into the spaces I enter.

I used to think I needed to choose just one thing.
I don't anymore.
My interests connect in ways that allow me to create differently, solve problems creatively, and bring ideas from one part of my life into another. This space is where all those pieces finally get to live together.

Beyond the Classroom
I’m also a wife, mom of three, creator, traveler, game lover, bargain hunter, occasional dancer, and someone who can turn a simple idea into approximately 47 additional ideas before breakfast.
Whether I'm creating classroom resources, sharing something I genuinely love, designing a new project, talking about neurodiversity, or finding another way to make learning more engaging, curiosity is usually where it starts.
There’s more than one way to learn.More than one way to create.And definitely more than one way to shine. ☀️
